Gain more insights by comparing Bill of Material (BoM) with Pick and Place List (CPL) in One Click

In the Electronics Assembly process, the Bill of Material (BoM) and Pick & Place List (a.k.a. Component Placement List – CPL) are the two most important documents. While BoM contains vital component details like MPN, Quantity, Supplier info, etc. CPL contains placement information like Reference Designators with X and Y coordinates of each component. It is important that both documents correspond and match with each other. To do this in a single click, we have created a tool that compares data of both documents and comes up with a report of discrepancies between them.

It is available in every manufacturing order screen in Sparrow ERP at bottom of BoM list. You can simply click the compare button (indicated in the screenshot above) to launch the comparison report. If both documents matche 100% then the system will simply show a success message. If not, then the system will open the report with issues. Here is one such report with example issues reported.

In the first issue, you can see that the tool shows BoM quantity does not match with component placement data of the part, it indicates CPL contains three extra placements.
Next, you can see Duplicate reference designators that show that the system found two identical reference designators that are used for different parts.
The third issue highlighted by the tool is, some components have X and Y co-ordinates either the same or they are too close with each other. Normally each component placement has some spacing around it.
